5/14/2022 Saturday  Milpitas to Weed, CA

Departed Milpitas a bit after 10 AM.

Leaving In Camper From Milpitas

Drove the regular route north to a Harvest Host (HH) RV site in Weed, Mt Shasta Brewery.

This is near Siskiyou college which happened to have a 2 mile loop in the forest. Nice to give us and the dogs a walk after 5 hours in the truck.  After the walk we went over and had dinner at the brewery. Alex tried a beer and I tried the cider which was ok. We sat outside and split a Reuben and Flat bread pizza. Both good. Their side salads were good.

5/15/2022 Sunday, Weed to La Center WA

Wanted to get an early start and we made it out by around 8:45am. Drove to Medford to get Safeway gas with 90 cents off so it was about  $4.77 for diesel…this seem cheap now as most places are over 6 dollars! Onward up 5 heading to Gather and feast farm in La Center WA. Another HH. 20 acre farm run by a couple who have a teenage son. They have two guardian dogs (anatoulian mastiff mix) and he was worried about them getting on our dogs so we walked the dogs around the property all on leash Off to see the freshly painted boat tomorrow!

5/16/2022 Monday,  La Center Gather and Feast Farm to Bellingham Seaview Boatyard North

Got out fairly early. Nice easy drive for having to go through Seattle etc. Arrived at the boat yard. The boat is in the shed. Looks nice and shiny but SO NOT DONE! Piles of stuff (ours and our hardware and electronics) sitting on pallets). A bit of a let down.  Our initial “thought” was the boat would be ready and we’d take 2-3 days to get packed and get her in the water. NOT.  Ten days later was when we splashed UGH.

The boatyard was nice enough to let us stay out back in the camper next to their dock so we had a water view for our 10 day wait. 8-10 hour days for us working to get boat back together and loaded after painting.

Anyhow out of he shed Thursday, they put the mast up then into the water. Then later that day they had us back in the travelift slip to wire up satellite: a bit frustrating.

So Saturday we put in pad eyes and packed fly bridge.   Sunday we shuttled camper to Summit Park, stopped by Anacortes to pick up an air filter from greg’s diesel and some stuff from west marine.

5/31/2022 Tuesday  CRUISING Bellingham to Port of Sidney

We got up early. Left dock around 7:40AM. Discovered one depth meter not working. Nice cruise with good current behind us a lot of the way. Got to Port of Sidney around 12:30pm. To customs dock: no peoples just called in and got our clearance number. We walked dogs south along the water: good swimming along the way so dogs had fun.

6/1/2022 to 6/4/2022 Port of Sidney Slips  F7 and F31

Working on finishing touches on the boat. Alex wanted to get cellular antenna thing installed. Bob and Claudette arrived and opened up grand QTR they were across from us so nice to be close. Darlene made reservation at the thai place up the street for all of us at 6:30pm.  So we had a nice dinner out together.

On the 2nd Rita and Vaughn showed up at 6pm ish so we could all see each other and then we went to the Dicken’s pub and Alex who had stayed behind to finish his project then walked up and joined us about 7:30pm. We had pub food and good conversation. Nice to see those guys.

Claudette, Patty, Rita , EZ Bob, Alex and Vaughn

On the 3rd: RAIN Rain Rain.
